Formeel (Van Adrichem Boogaert & Kouwe 1994).

Goed gedefinieerde, roze tot grijze, (sub-)arkosische zandsteen eenheid. Heeft vaak een kenmerkend, geblokt patroon op gamma-ray logs.

In de zuidelijke gebieden een fluviatiel milieu (Ames & Farfan 1996); eolisch milieu in de Centrale Noordzee Slenk (Fontaine et al. 1993).
